But PSN is every improving. Live didn't get Folkore or Heavenly Sword. And PSN got Dynasty Warriors Gundam before Live did. So while live is still better PSN has been pretty good.
Game rentals are very casual and usually games rented are because people aren't buying them. Instead they think it's worth a rental.
XBOX 360 has a larger install base, so it should dominate rentals.

I downloaded off my Japanese account. Even without understanding the langauge I was able to pass the demo. And the gameplay is pretty interesting, graphics are good. I'm actually thinking of buying Folklore now. It seemed like a pretty simple and straight foward RPG. the map is the same as FFX. So to my surprise I'm kinda hyped about Folklore now.

I already downloaded The Darkness demo off my European Account. And it's good, I was on the fence about The Darkness. I was just gonna wait for Lair but now that Lair got delayed I'll need a game. So I'm buying The Darkness.

But I mean come on. 5 free HD DVDs? The more Hardball HD DVD plays the more hardball blu ray will play.
That's really the only way HD DVD has competed with cheaper prices.
everyone denies it, but the reality is that most hardcore gamers are fanboys. A lot of times it's about pride for the console, and not really the game itself.
Man a lot of those XBOX 360 games are on PC also. If I have a good PC I could play them on that. Bioshock, Halo 3, and Mass Effect are really the only 360 games that interest me at all. If I could play Bioshock on PC, that's super.
The 80GB PS3 is up by almost 6000% each with a blu ray player. and the 60GB PS3 is still the # 1 seller in video games. It went up like 15000% and has stayed there. Again more blu ray players. So go go go Blu ray!
This Holiday the gap could increase as store chains like Target will promote Blu ray and more PS3's sell during the holiday. More 360's also sell but they don't come with HD DVD. Not to mention blu ray has more studio support.

I still see it as an XBOX 360 game. When ever it arrives on PS3, it will be too late. I won't buy it or rent it.
It's all about pride. True fanboys have pride and usually only care about exclusives and a few multi platforms but not late ports.

PS3 outsold XBOX 360 by more this week. Edit: Nevermind that was 2 weeks ago. So PS3 has outsold XBOX 360 for 3 weeks first by 6k, then 13k, then 9k. Not bad
I thought last time it was 6k. Is it growing? And in Japan they outsold 360 close to 37K thanks to hotshots golf. I'm still amazed PS3 sold around 40k in one week in Japan.
I don't think PS3 needs to worry about the Wii. I think the Wii is too different and it's long gone ahead of them. Wii is really for a different market. You'll notice that the fanboys don't really care about the Wii, it's always more about PS3 VS 360.

The graphics look disappointing, and the car driving it's still basicly the same thing, a 3rd person view. Not innovating enough. I'm more excited to see what Rockstar comes up with for the PS3. Remember they announced their new IP would be PS3 exclusive.

Am I the only one who liked the whole Getto style of GTA: San Andreas or a visit back to the 80's of Vice city. You want it to be about real amercian pop culture.
I would of wanted GTA 4 to have a more inner city sorta ghetto approach like Emeniem and 50 cent. And listening to the music and sounds of today. I don't want to play as some old clueless foreigner.

Because most people would of bought GTA IV on XBOX 360 this year, because it has Halo 3 also and XBOX 360 is cheaper than PS3. And Blu ray isn't a factor yet.
This breaks up XBOX 360's perfect storm for 2007 they claimed they had. People who aren't Halo fan's won't jump ship to XBOX 360 this holiday because it no longer has GTA IV.
